The Program

The program at Children's Corner is child-centered and designed to address the following areas:

* Individual development
* Awareness of the needs of others; the ability to communicate and share experiences as members of a group
* Intellectual curiosity stimulated by free play and some structured forms of learning, field trips, and special events
* Creativity in play, arts and crafts, dance, and music
* The development of the child's own interests by providing a flexible daily schedule

School is in session Monday through Friday from late August to mid May and follows the vacation schedule of MCCSC schools. One-day, two-day, three-day, and five-day classes are offered for children who are 2- to 5-years old. Morning classes meet from 9:15-11:45am. The Membership Chairperson can assist you in selecting the most appropriate class for your child based on recommended age guidelines for each group. Children should be in the process of toilet-training (pull-ups are allowed) before entering school.

A Lunch Bunch option is available daily on a first-come, first-served sign-up basis.

Some special features of the program include a weekly music/singing lesson, offered by a teacher with a music degree, and the opportunity to borrow a book each Friday from the school library.

Lunch Bunch costs are $5/session. Children bring their own lunches (no peanuts, please!) and are supervised for an additional hour. It's available as an option for children in all classes. Sign-ups are first-come, first-served, although parents may arrange to have their child signed up automatically each week for a specific day.
