Q. How much does CCCNS cost?
The tuition structure is outlined on our Classes & Tuition. Tuition may be paid annually, semi-annually, or monthly.
Q. What does it mean that you are a co-op?
The school is non-profit and parent run. All members are required to participate in the classrooms as well as helping with general cleaning maintenance. Additional optional participation on the school Board of Directors or other means is also welcomed.
Q. How much classroom participation is required?
- 9 times per year (once/month) for 2-day classes
- 10 times per year (~once/month) for 3-day classes
- 18 times per year (twice/month) for 5-day classes
Partial participation is half the number of times.
Q. Can I pay extra for less participation?
We allow one paid substitute participator per child per semester. Some classes also have the option available to pay a higher tuition and participate half as many times.
Q. Can I pay less for more participation?
No, the school is a co-op and we encourage as much participation as you would like, but with the exception of acting as a paid participator we do not offer compensation for extra participation.
Q. Do you offer scholarships?
We have a small scholarship fund to assist families through a difficult time. Please contact the president of the board for more information.
Q. Do you use a specific curriculum?
We use a play centered curriculum adapted from
The Creative Curriculum by Diana Trister Dogde, Laura J. Colker, and Cate Heroman and each teacher has their own teaching style. (See our
Details page.)
Q. Do you offer Pre-K?
All classes prepare the children for kindergarten in an age-appropriate manner. We offer a 4+ class as well as a mixed-age class. (See our
