Our New Facilities
Children's Corner is moving to a new location! We will be located at 4001 South Rogers Street on the south side of Bloomington on the lower level of Unity of Bloomington. The school has no affiliation with the church. School facilities include 4 well-equipped classrooms, and a spacious playground.
Cooperative Structure: This is YOUR school!
As members of a cooperative preschool, our parents are committed to an active role in shaping and running the school. Parents assist their child's teacher in the classroom approximately once a month (2 or 3 day program), or twice a month (4 and 5-day program). Reduced participation is available for an additional fee.
Other parental responsibilities include:
Attendance at two business meetings a year
Attending a mid-year conference with their child's teacher
One cleaning night
Participation on a parent committee
Parents are also encouraged to contribute time and talent in a variety of ways, such as sharing individual hobbies and interests, assisting with children's parties, and serving as a room parent or special events coordinator.
Parents of enrolled children constitute the governing body of the school and elect members to a board of directors. All parents and staff are invited to attend monthly board meetings, and are encouraged to participate on the special committees formed by the board.
